[정치]’Running for Mayor of Seoul’ Heo Kyung-yeong “National dividend of 1.5 million won, love allowance of 200,000 won”

On the 20th, the president of the National Revolutionary Party Heo Kyung-young announced his five major pledges while he declared a run for the re-election of the mayor of Seoul.

First, CEO Huh announced that he would move the water intake source for’Arisu’, the tap water of Seoul, from the current Namhan River Paldang Dam to the Bukhangang Cheongpyeong Dam.

Heo said, “We will provide water at the level of bottled water using clean Bukhan River water that originates from Mt. Geumgang in North Korea and passes through Hwacheon and Chuncheon, instead of Paldang Dam, which is highly polluted.”

It then declared that it would reduce the city’s budget by 70% and return it to the state and pay 1.5 million won per month from the age of 18 to eliminate the rich and the poor.

To this end, President Huh also announced that he would work without pay for the mayor of Seoul. In addition, he announced that he would pay it as personal property without receiving 10 billion won in sales and sales expenses, which are business promotion expenses for handling public affairs.

It also pledged to abolish some property taxes. CEO Huh said that he would abolish the real estate ownership tax and automobile ownership tax to reduce the burden of citizens’ lives. Representative Huh argued, “We have to abolish the home ownership tax, which is like paying one’s own money and living in a wallet house.”

He explained that he would leave the real estate market to the market logic and abolish the ceiling on apartment sales prices. He added that the publicly announced land price will no longer be raised, and that Seoul will not be involved in real estate.

Finally, it made a pledge to eliminate the Ministry of Unification and Women and establish a new’marriage department’. Through this, it will pay 200,000 won a month to unmarried people.

In the case of marriage, it has announced that it will pay 100 million won for marriage and 200 million won for housing fund without interest. They said they would solve the problem of low birth rate by paying 50 million won in childbirth allowance for childbirth and 1 million won a month for full-time housewives until the age of 10.

However, there was no detailed explanation on how to raise the financial resources for this.

President Oh Myung-jin, head of the National Revolutionary Party, explained, “Chairman Huh challenged the mayor of Seoul prior to the next year’s presidential election to show an example of paying national dividends.”

Heo won the presidential election in 1997 and 2007, but failed. In the April 15 general election last year, he ran as a candidate for proportional representation of the National Revolutionary Dividend Party, but was unable to enter the National Assembly due to the low vote rate.
