According to Nongshim, a total of 340 million Chapaghetti products were sold last year. It means that the whole people ate 7 meals a year.

Consumer interest in Chapaghetti was also high online. As of the previous day, Chapaghetti’s Instagram hashtag posted about 219,000, which is the highest among domestic ramen. The number of Samyang Buldak Stir-fried noodles was 195,000, Shin Ramyun was 146,000, and Jin Ramyun was 69,000.

An official from Nongshim explained, “The fact that hashtags are used a lot can be interpreted as meaning that many people expressed interest and affection online.”

As for the momentum of the increased consumer interest in Chapaghetti, Nongshim selected the Academy Award for Film Parasite in February of last year. In the movie, there is a scene where Yeongyo (Jo Yeo-jeong) puts the ribs of Korean beef on’chapaguri (chapaghetti + raccoon)’.

An official from Nongshim said, “As Chapaguri became a hot topic through the movie, the online certification craze for Chapaguri was blown,” he said.
