Pianist Paik Kun-woo, who was swept away by the public petition post and the rebuttal excommunication, continues his performance. Performance planning company Vinchero announced that “Geon-woo Paik, who lives in France, will return to Korea on the 11th of this month and complete self-isolation and start performing in Korea from the 26th.” Along with the exploration of the composer Schumann, which started last year, the Mozart project continues.

Entered Korea on the 11th and 5 times until next month, including Schumann and Bartok

Although Paik’s performance in Korea is scheduled, it draws attention in conjunction with the recent excommunication of the Blue House national petition. On the 5th, a message was posted on the public petition bulletin board saying, “A movie star *** is struggling with Alzheimer’s and diabetes without being cared for by a spouse and daughter.” In response, Paik Geon-woo issued a statement on the 7th through the performance agency and said, “My wife Yoon Jung-hee is being cared for.” It was also revealed that he won the lawsuit for guardians filed by three brothers and sisters of Yoon Jeong-hee at the Paris High Court last November.

In this situation, Paik Kun-woo plays Schumann in Daejeon on the 26th of this month, Daegu on the 4th of next month, Art Center Incheon on the 6th, and at the Seoul Arts Center on the 12th. At a press conference ahead of the Schumann national tour in October last year, Paik said, “I can only understand Schumann, who went to the mental hospital with my hands because I didn’t want to damage my family.” Schumann died in a mental hospital after suffering from depression and schizophrenia. In this performance, Schumann’s first song,’Aveck Variation’, and the last piece,’Ghost Variation’, are also played.

On the 14th, two days after the Schumann performance, he will perform at the Seoul Arts Center. He will perform 20th century composer Bartok’s Piano Concerto No. 3 and Debussy’s Piano and Fantasy for Orchestra. These are 20th century works that are not technically easy.

Paik Kun-woo is originally a pianist for the series. In the 1972s, he played or recorded all specific genres of one composer, including all Rachmaninoff concertos (4 songs), all Beethoven Sonata songs (32 songs), and all Chopin Nocturnes (21 songs). He used to look into a composer as a human and understand his life and express music.

The composer Paik Kun-woo meets this year is Mozart. On July 13th and November 3rd, Paik Kun-woo prepares for the’Mozart Project’ at Seoul Arts Center. It is a series that performs a concerto with the newly composed’Mozart Project Orchestra’. “This year is the 65th anniversary of Paik Kun-woo’s performance,” said the performance agency Vinche-ro, and said, “It will be a performance on stage with young musicians.” In this way, Paik Kun-woo continues his lifelong work of’the study of a composer’.

It has not yet been decided whether Paik Kun-woo, who is entering Korea for a performance, will disclose his position at a press conference related to the Blue House national petition.
