Deputy Prime Minister Yu Eun-hye and Minister of Education said on the 7th, “The number of confirmed cases of novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) is on the rise in the school age of 13-18 for the last three weeks into the new semester.
Deputy Prime Minister Yu said this while presiding over an emergency video conference on school quarantine with Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Chung Eun-kyung, an infectious disease expert at the government’s Sejong Government Complex.
According to the Ministry of Education, the incidence of Corona 19 in schools is still lower than the rate of infection in the community or in the home. However, over the last three weeks, the rate of confirmation of school-age age (13-18 years old) has slightly increased compared to the total age.
Deputy Prime Minister Yoo said, “The number of confirmed cases across the country has been increasing recently, and there is a growing concern.”
He said, “It’s time to get tight again and check the school’s quarantine again.”
After the meeting, the Ministry of Education decided to reinforce the guidance to thoroughly check other suspicious symptoms such as chills and body aches in addition to fever during self-diagnosis at home for students and parents. Students and faculty members decided to provide thorough guidance for private meetings, club activities, and quarantine in the process of using academy.
With the vaccination of faculty members starting with special and health teachers starting on the 8th, Deputy Prime Minister Yu said that the discussions to advance the vaccination plans of the rest of the teachers were continuing.
