Is Kim Jong-in the hub of the Mayor of Seoul? Preliminary candidates for the 4/7 mayoral election by the mayor of Seoul and Chairman Kim’s sticky past is a hot topic in politics.

In addition, Candidate Park Young-seon, Ahn Cheol-soo, National Party Candidate, independent candidate Tae-seop Geum, and Candidate Jo Jung-hoon, who ran for the Democratic Party, all have a deep relationship with Chairman Kim. Unfortunately, however, they are all competing against the people’s strength, led by Chairman Kim.

① Park Young-sun: A relationship that started as a reporter and reporter

The longest relationship with Chairman Kim is than after Park Young-sun’s Democratic Party race. When Chairman Kim served as the chairman of the Democratic Party’s hypertrophy committee in 2016, Candidate Park was classified as an overcrowded member and his closest close friend. It was Lee Do Park, who ended Chairman Kim’s departure from the Democratic Party in March 2017.

Their relationship dates back to the 1990s. An official from the passport said, “Since when Candidate Park worked as a reporter for the MBC Ministry of Economy, we have been exchanging with Chairman Kim as a reporter vs. reporter. There was also a common interest in economic democratization and chaebol reform.”

At the 17th National Assembly in 2004, Candidate Park was elected 9 times proportional to the Uri Party, and Chairman Kim was elected 2 times proportional to the New Millennium Democratic Party. The two worked together in the Congressional Research Organization’Financial Globalization and the Korean Economy’. Exchange continued even after Chairman Kim joined the Saenuri Party (now the power of the people) in 2012. Candidate Park also appeared on a radio program at the time and delivered the remarks of Chairman Kim, who said, “There is no one in the Saenuri Party to preempt the issue of economic democratization.”

However, the current relationship ahead of the election is not the same as before. Chairman Kim said on the 27th of last month, “Candidate Young-seon Park and Candidate Sang-ho Woo are the people who competed as mayoral candidates last time, but they are not people of special significance to me.” Candidate Park also criticized Chairman Kim’s recent suspicion of “promoting North Korean nuclear power plants” as “to put color theory in the past.”

② Ahn Chul-soo: Once a mentor… After that?

Ahn Cheol-soo and Chairman Kim of the People's Party sat side by side at the publication ceremony of the current National Strength Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in in 2017. The two were once referred to as a'mentor-mentee' relationship, but they also exchanged venom for a while. Kim Sang-sun

The two were once referred to as a’mentor-mentee’ relationship, but they also exchanged venom for a while. Kim Sang-sun

In 2011, when the so-called Anpung was blowing, Chairman Kim was called the’mentor group’ of Candidate Chul-Soo Ahn. However, Chairman Kim wrote as a negative nuance in his memoir, “There is no eternal power,” published in March of last year, saying, “I am’Ahn Chul-soo’s political mentor,’ and the media kept making a fuss.”

The incident dates back to May 2012. Candidate Ahn said in a lecture at Pusan National University that former Environment Minister Yoon Yeo-jun was called a’mentor’, saying, “If he is my mentor, there are about 300 people who act as my mentors.” This remark became a prelude to counterattack four years later. Chairman Kim, who was leading the Democratic Party’s 20th general election in March 2016, told Candidate Ahn, who was the representative of the National Assembly Party, “we must be polite in politics.” Do you say that there are 300 such people’? I learned politics wrong.”

Then, the next day, Candidate Ahn criticized Chairman Kim as “Modakagi Tsar (the title of the Imperial Russian Emperor)” and “old leader”. When Chairman Kim announced his pledge to attract the Samsung factory in Gwangju, he said, “If the politics tells us, the company will follow it unconditionally.”

However, the recent discussion on the unification of the opposition candidates by the mayor of Seoul City is speeding up, and the relationship between the two is likely to improve. Candidate Ahn announced that he would unify with independent candidate Geum Tae-seop apart from the People’s Power Competition. Chairman Kim, who has treated Candidate Ahn coldly, said on the 4th, “I’m very glad to see you. With the heart that everyone is one family, we must avoid unsavory words and actions such as mutual slander and make it a beautiful contest.”

③ Tae-seop Geum:’Singular Nomination’

Former Rep. Tae-seop Geum, who declared a run for the re-election of the mayor of Seoul, attended a regular seminar at the Mapo Forum'To a Better World' led by former Rep. Kim Moo-sung

Former lawmaker Geum Tae-seop, who declared a run for the re-election of the mayor of Seoul, attended a regular seminar at the Mapo Forum’To a Better World’ led by former Congressman Kim Moo-sung on the afternoon of the 4th. News 1

Candidate Tae-seop Geum joined the Democratic Party through an acquaintance with Candidate Ahn, but remained alone in the Democratic Party when Ahn left the party in December 2015. It was Chairman Kim who nominated Candidate Geum, who was an outsider, as a candidate for the National Assembly. About a month before the 2016 general election, the Democratic Party, led by Chairman Kim, confirmed Geum as candidate Kang Seo-gap in Seoul. Afterwards, Candidate Geum entered the 20th National Assembly with 37.2% of the votes.

Immediately after the general election, Chairman Kim appointed Geum as Vice Chairman of the Democratic Party Policy Committee. The word “extraordinary person line” came out when the newly elected political rookie was selected. Even after Chairman Kim left the Democratic Party, the two often met and exchanged opinions on the current political issues.

Even after Geum left the Democratic Party in October last year, Chairman Kim said, “I can meet you once,” and candidate Geum replied, “I have a chance to meet you in the future.” Is basically’reasonable progress’, and I think close to it. I often meet without anything special.”

④ Jo Jung-hoon: An economic expert in his 40s?

On the 31st of last month, Rep. Cho Jung-hoon, who changed the era, is declaring a run for the Seoul Mayor by-election at the Seoul Yeouido National Assembly Communication Hall on the afternoon of the 31st. Representative Cho

On the 31st of last month, Rep. Cho Jung-hoon, who changed the era, is declaring a run for the Seoul Mayor by-election at the Seoul Yeouido National Assembly Communication Hall on the afternoon of the 31st. Rep. Candidate Jo Jung-hoon for the transition to the era entered the 21st National Assembly as a proportional satellite party of the Democratic Party, the 6th candidate for the Civilian Party. This is why it is classified as a criminal passport in politics. On the 3rd, he said he would not participate in the unification of the opposition. Nevertheless, the reason why Candidate Cho’s actions in the future unification of the third zone is focused on his relationship with Chairman Kim.

Candidate Cho met with Chairman Kim on the 25th of last month, six days before the declaration of running. An official from Candidate Cho said, “Chairman Cho and Chairman Kim usually communicated frequently,” and said, “We met again to discuss various issues and to receive advice.” Earlier, in February of last year, Chairman Kim said he gave a lot of advice during the creation of the era of the transition, which was the political force in the 20s to 40s.

Some political circles have cited Cho as the ’40s economic expert’, which Chairman Kim referred to as a requirement for the next presidential candidate. Candidate Cho, born in 1972, worked at the World Bank for 15 years before entering the political world, and served as Vice President Yoo Si-jae and Director of Ajou University Unification Research Institute.
