A study has shown that a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine developed by US pharmaceutical company Pfizer and German Bioentech showed up to 90% of the immunity effect with a single vaccination.

On the 4th (local time), the British newspaper Telegraph and others reported that researchers at East Anglia University in the UK analyzed 500,000 cases of Pfizer-Bioentech vaccines in Israel and reached such a conclusion.

Professor Paul Hunter, who conducted this study, said that there was no change until the 14th day after receiving the vaccine, but after that, the effect gradually appeared, and the immune effect rose to 90% on the 21st.

However, because the Pfizer-Bioentech vaccine was vaccinated at intervals of three weeks in Israel, it was not possible to determine how much the immune effect was maintained when the vaccine was given only once.

Professor Hunter said, “It is not known whether the immunity will last more than 21 days without the second vaccination,” he said. “There will be no significant decrease after 9 weeks.”

He also expressed his intention to support the British government’s policy of increasing the vaccination interval. Earlier, the UK government has increased the interval between 2 vaccinations, which usually requires two doses, to a maximum of 12 weeks, saying that it will benefit more people from getting the COVID-19 vaccine.

The results of this study contradict the view that the Israeli Corona 19 quarantine officer said that once Pfizer-Bioentech’s Corona 19 vaccine was given, the effect would not meet expectations.

In an Israeli radio interview on the 19th of last month, Professor Nahman Ash, the head of Israel’s COVID-19 quarantine, said, “If you get one vaccine, it seems to be less effective than what Pfizer announced.”
