[청년투데이=나광국 기자] Kakao Mobility launches the’Kakao T Train’ on the 1st, allowing reservations and ticketing for train services provided by Korea Railroad (KORAIL).

Previously, Kakao Mobility signed a business agreement with the Korean Railroad in January last year, and built a system to provide train services.

This Kakao T train service enables the entire process from reservation to payment and issuance for all types of regular trains operated by Korea Railroad, as well as services such as Kakao T intercity bus and Kakao T taxi to move across a wide area. It provides MaaS (Mobility as a Service) type services that encompass all means.

In particular, this service is attracting a lot of attention in that the convenience of users is maximized. In the existing app, the user had to separately identify and select a suitable means of transportation to the train station or to the destination from the train station, but in Kakao T train, if you enter only departure and arrival, it is automatically recommended from the train station guide to the best route for the entire journey and used immediately. There is already a main reaction among young people that they are “expected”.

A young man I met near Guui Station said, “The existing apps are all separate, so installing and signing up for each app was complicated, but I hope this part will be resolved to some extent through the launch of the Kakao T train.”

Another young man also added, “The launch of the Kakao T train seems to be innovative,” and added, “I hope there will be a lot of apps that enhance the convenience of users.”

Kakao Mobility CEO Ryu Gung-seon said, “The Kakao T train is organically linked to intercity buses, taxis, and navigators, providing a MaaS-type service that connects and provides all means of transportation and information necessary for the entire process of the user’s movement in one app. It will be the first case you can experience in earnest.”
