Coffee franchise stores, which were only available for packaging and delivery sales in 2.5 steps to distancing society due to the spread of coronavirus infection, were able to eat in stores from the 18th due to the adjustment of the government’s quarantine guidelines. The franchise headquarters began to prepare for business by arranging the seats wider in the store and installing partitions between tables in accordance with government guidelines.

Café companies, which had been having difficulty with their business as eating in the store was banned, are said to have become somewhat breathless by allowing the store to eat. However, it is reported that the government is considering how to implement it in the field regarding the newly recommended’time limit within one hour when ordering drinks for two or more people’.

Earlier, the government extended the social distancing phase currently in effect at the Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters (Middle Script) meeting held at the Government Complex Seoul on the 16th. Announced a policy to conditionally allow their business.

In restaurants and cafes with facility permits and reporting areas of 50m2 or more, one table or seat is allowed to use only 50% of the store’s seats, and if it is difficult to observe this, a 1m distance between tables or partitions are installed. If you do not eat, it is mandatory to wear a mask, and if you violate this, a fine of not more than 100,000 won is imposed. In addition, when two or more users ordered only coffee, beverages, and simple desserts at a restaurant or cafe, it was recommended to limit the time spent in the store to within 1 hour.

Regarding this, an official in the coffee franchise industry said, “There have been a lot of difficulties in sales by operating stores centered on packaging,” he said. “We welcome the government guidelines that allowed eating in cafe stores.”

Currently, each store is making every effort to prevent quarantine, such as arranging tables according to government guidelines. A Starbucks official said, “We will operate the store with the safety of customers and partners as a top priority, such as strict distance between tables in accordance with government guidelines.” An official of the SPC Group also said, “We started preparing the store operation by adjusting the tables for each store and providing information on it,” and said, “We will faithfully follow and implement government guidelines.”

However, it is said that there are many concerns about the time limit guidelines strongly recommended by the government. A Starbucks official said, “It is difficult to check the time each customer has entered the store, and it is not easy to ask them to leave the store just because the time has passed.” They are reviewing the back,” he said.
