‘Iron Man’ Yoon Seong-bin (27, Gangwon Provincial Office) finished the season by staying in the top 10 at the 2020-2021 International Bobsleigh Skeleton Competition Federation (IBSF) World Championships.

Yoon Sung-bin placed 17th in the men’s skeleton race, which ended in Altenberg, Germany on the 12th (Korean time), with a total of 3 minutes 50 seconds 97 in the first to fourth periods.

‘Defending Champion’ Christopher Grotier (3:46:31, Germany) succeeded in losing the tournament for the second time, Alexander Tretiakov (3:46:59, Russia) won the silver medal, and Alexander Gasner (3:47:51) Germany) won the bronze medal around the neck.

Yoon Seong-bin delayed hunting for the first gold medal at the world championship to the next opportunity.

Yun Seong-bin, who won the silver and bronze medals at the world championships in the meantime, was able to achieve the feat of experiencing the top of the Olympics, the World Cup, and the world championships if he won this competition.

In the World Cup series that ended before this World Championship, Yoon Seong-bin won a bronze medal in the 6th tournament and a silver medal in the 7th tournament, winning a total of 2 medals this season.

Considering the fact that he skipped the first half of the season and only competed in the 6th~8th tournament due to the influence of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19), this is not a bad achievement.

After the season, Yoon Sung-bin begins to prepare for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, which is approaching a year ahead.

Jeong Seung-gi (22, Catholic Kwandong University), who participated together, ranked 20th with a total of 3 minutes, 53 seconds and 13 seconds during the first to fourth periods.

Kim Ji-soo (27, Gangwon Provincial Office), who was unable to participate in the fourth period because he was not in the 20th place until the third period, ranked 24th with a total of 2 minutes 55 seconds 54 during the first and third periods.

The sledding team, including Yoon Sung-bin, will enter Korea next week after completing all the schedules of the world championships, including the female monobob (single-seater bobsled) played by Kim Yu-ran and the male bobsled 4-seater competition, including Won Yoon-jong and Ji-Jin Ji-Jin.
