The intent is to designate himself as a domestic guardian on behalf of Yoon Jung-hee, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s dementia.
When Baek becomes a domestic guardian, he protects Yoon Jeong-hee’s identity and manages Yoon Jeong-hee’s domestic assets. It is known that there are two apartment houses and a large number of deposits in the name of Yoon Jeong-hee. The guardian is the legal representative of the guardian and has authority over personal, property, and inheritance within the limits designated by the court.
Currently, in Korea, the case is handled by the Seoul Family Court alone. The judiciary is known to have requested an appraisal from the National Mental Health Center to accurately confirm the condition of Yoon Jeong-hee. The court decides whether to designate a guardian after going through an appraisal procedure. The trial proceeds independently of the two judgments of the French court, but it is possible that the court will refer to the decision of the French court.
When Baek filed for a guardian judgment in a domestic court, it was a time when the appeals of his younger brothers Yoon Jeong-hee were in progress in the case of his guardian judgment in France. The Paris High Court held the final hearing on September 29 last year, and finally on November 3 of the same year, did not accept the arguments of Yoon’s younger brothers and finally raised the hand of Baek.
The possibility of the younger siblings raising objections, as in France, cannot be ruled out. Even if younger siblings in Korea participate in this judgment case as a stakeholder or participant, or if the request of Mr. Baek is accepted at the first trial, they can appeal through appeal and reappeal.

Currently, Yoon Jeong-hee’s five younger brothers are in conflict with their daughter Baek and her husband, pianist Paik Kun-woo (75), over the designation of guardians.
