LG and SK are competing on the edge of the battery at ITC in the United States.
ITC gave LG a hand in trade secrets and SK in a patent lawsuit, but as the deadline for exercising the veto by President Joe Biden of the United States approaches one week in the future, interest in what choices to make is growing.
Reporter Park Jin-hyung’s report.

LG’s lawsuit against SK in the US International Trade Commission and ITC for infringement of battery trade secrets was due to a massive manpower outflow.
It means that SK infringed on trade secrets as more than 70 people moved, and ITC raised LG’s hand first as cases of destruction of evidence such as document deletion were revealed.
However, it is advantageous for SK in preliminary judgment regarding patent rights.
“SK side did not infringe on LG’s patent right, or LG’s patent right itself is not recognized.”
General Meng, ITC is more likely to have a 1 win 1 loss, but ITC’s decision to ban SK’s 10-year battery import in February will not change.
For this reason, the SK side is putting an eye on President Joe Biden’s veto exercise, which is due on the 11th.
If the right to veto is not accepted, he has even struck multiple withdrawal from the United States.
This preliminary decision means that it did not infringe on intellectual property rights, so this is a justification for exercising the presidential veto.
In another patent dispute in July, if a preliminary decision is made that LG infringed on SK’s patent, LG may face restrictions on import bans, so no one can guarantee victory.
“There are two more (lawsuits) left in the future, but no matter what form it is, it is unlikely that a form that will help both companies will come out, and the US will take this judgment and take it as a draw so that it will be dragged in the most favorable conditions.
Some point out that only Chinese companies are gaining fishermanship because the global market share of the three domestic companies has lost 10% this year while the two companies are competing on the edge of a cliff.
