The US International Trade Commission helped LG in the battery dispute between LG and SK that took place for nearly two years.
Not long ago, the result of the lawsuit, which even Prime Minister Jeong Sye-gyun came up with and called for an agreement, came out.
SK retains the existing supply contract, but imports of some products are prohibited for 10 years.

The lawsuit between LG Energy Solutions and SK Innovation over whether electric vehicle battery technology was infringed was ended with LG’s complete victory.
In this lawsuit, which began when LG filed an investigation with the U.S. International Trade Commission and ITC in April of last year, claiming that SK removed its battery specialists and infringed trade secrets, ITC decided to ban the import of some EV batteries from SK for 10 years. I got down.
After winning the victory, LG demanded a convincing agreement from SK, that is, some kind of compensation.
“If our competitors are to solve this difficulty, they will have to make a reasonable proposal to us with a sincere attitude even now…”
However, while the US ITC declared LG’s victory, it imposed some kind of suspension.
It allowed SK to supply batteries to Ford and Volkswagen, which produce electric vehicles in their own country, for four and two years, respectively.
This is not a consideration for SK, but a measure not to give a shock to the electric vehicle business in Korea.
For SK, a certain amount of shock absorbers were in place, but the loss of the lawsuit hurt reliability.
Investigations and trials underway in Korea are likely to be adversely affected, and the burden of large settlement funds is also of a high quality.
“As SK makes concessions, the conclusion is on the good side…If you don’t accept it, it will disrupt exports to the US.”
However, the amount of settlement money is expected to be another tug-of-war due to the difference in time between the two companies.
