As the recent Tokyo Olympic cancellation theory hit the world, the IOC of the International Olympic Committee began to evolve.
“Our mission is to organize the Olympics, not to cancel them. That’s why we try to make the Olympics safe day and night.”
It has not yet been decided whether to enter the audience, but again emphasized that it will not require vaccinations for athletes.
“Vaccines first should be high-risk groups, medical workers, and people who keep our society alive.”
However, the situation in Japan when the Olympics will be held is not easy.
Not only does the number of coronavirus cases seldom decrease, but 86% of people said they had to postpone or cancel the Olympics as a result of the survey.
That’s a 21 percent increase over the survey a month ago.
Contrary to national opinion, Japan, which is pushing for the holding, reached out to the United States, an ally and the largest athletes, to the Olympics.
According to The Wall Street Journal, Haruyuki Takahashi, director of the organizing committee for the Tokyo Olympics, asked for help, saying, “If President Joe Biden makes a positive statement on the progress of the Olympics, we will gain strong momentum.”
The IOC, which is continuing its uneasy steps for the opening of the Tokyo Olympics in July, is planning to release a set of rules for the prevention of COVID-19 prepared with the Tokyo Olympics Organizing Committee earlier next month.
