Yemeni rebel Huti announced on the 7th (local time) that it had launched a drone and ballistic missile attack against the Aramco oil facility in Rastanura, eastern Saudi Arabia.

The rebels Hooty also attacked the bases of Saudi Dammam, Asir and Jazan, Reuters reported.

In this regard, Saudi authorities said that a drone attack from the sea was attacked at Rastanura’s oil reservoir on the morning of the day, but the drone was destroyed before it reached its target.

Saudi authorities also said that debris from the ballistic missile fell into a residence in Dharan, a city in eastern Saudi Arabia, and that no damage to property or life occurred.

A spokesman for the Saudi Ministry of Defense said in a statement that “this destructive action is aimed at the stability and security of energy supply not only in Saudi Arabia, but also in the world.”

Earlier this morning, the Saudis announced that they had intercepted 12 drones and two ballistic missiles from the Yemeni rebel Huti.

After this announcement, the Saudis attacked the Yemeni capital Sana, which is controlled by the rebel Huti, with fighters.

The Iranian-backed rebel Huti recently attempted to take control of the northwestern state of Marib, a base of government forces in northern Yemen, while at the same time strengthening offensive against Saudi Arabia.

In particular, after the US withdrew the designation of a terrorist organization against the rebel Huti last month, the frequency of rebels attacking Saudi Arabia increased.

The civil war in Yemen has been going on for more than six years since the rebels took over the capital Sana in late 2014.

In 2015, the dispute began in earnest as Saudi Arabia and the United States intervened to prevent Iran from expanding its influence in Yemen.

To date, more than 130,000 people have been killed and more than 3 million refugees have occurred.
