It is known that the former Democratic Research Institute Chairman Yang Jeong-cheol, an aide of President Moon Jae-in, had dinner with Kim Tae-nyeon, the Democratic Party leader, and Choi Jae-seong, the chief political officer of the Blue House.

Yang Jeon met with Representative Kim Won-nae and Chief Jeong Moo-suk Choi at a Hanjeongsik restaurant in Jongno-gu, Seoul around 6 pm on the 5th and ate for about 3 hours. It is reported that the three broke up after talking with the new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) until about 9 p.m., the restaurant opening time, according to the 2.5 steps to social distancing.

According to The Fact on the 7th, the restaurant owner said, “CEO Kim Won-nae paid for the meal by card.” The media reported that Choi Jeong Moo-suk first left the restaurant at 9:21 pm, and two minutes later, Representative Kim Won-nae and former Director Yang showed up.

The meeting took place before Yang’s former director went to the United States. Yang Jeon plans to depart for the United States this month to work as a visiting senior researcher at the US Think Tank Institute for Strategic International Studies (CSIS).

After the 2017 presidential election, Yang Jeon, who has been traveling to and from the United States and Japan, is evaluated as having led the ruling party’s overwhelming victory by serving as the president of the Democratic Research Institute, a party think tank, ahead of the general election last year.

In the reorganization of the presidential secretary’s office at the end of last year, former President Yang was mentioned as a successor to the secretary’s office at the end of last year.

Immediately after the inauguration of the Moon Jae-in administration, Yang Jeon maintained a position that he would not assume public office, saying, “My role is over and I ask for the right to be forgotten.”

Inside and outside the Democratic Party, it is said that Yang, former president, could take on another role ahead of the next presidential election.
