Regarding the suspicion of speculation on forest fields in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi-do on the 10th, Yang Hyang-ja, the top member of the Democratic Party, said, “We have not aimed for any market gains through the purchase of forests in Hwaseong. The land that I tried to sell several times while making a decision,” he explained.

Earlier, one media reported that both top members are holding blind lands in the Hwaseong Development Restricted Area (Green Belt), Gyeonggi Province, and that speculation aimed at market share gains as it is close to the new housing site development district.

In this regard, the Supreme Commissioner Yang said in a statement on the day that “the land on the sidewalk is completely irrelevant to the controversial new town and that it is difficult to calculate the market price itself as there is almost no land transaction around it.”

Chief Commissioner Yang said, “I tried to buy and sell several times since I decided to enter the public office with the land I purchased before recruiting, but the transaction itself was so scarce that I failed to buy and sell.”

According to Rep. Yang Hyang-ja, the land was 1056 pyeong of forest land, and in October 2015, it was purchased under the joint name of a spouse for 4752 million won. Rep. Yang explained that the fund was raised by combining part of the spouse’s funds with the employee severance pay received when the two top committee members were elected Samsung executives. At the time, the publicly announced land price was 53,488,000 won, and the current publicly announced land price was 56,574,000 won.

He explained, “When I was promoted to a Samsung executive, I bought the land under the name of my spouse with the recommendation of an acquaintance in order to build a country house after retirement and prepare for retirement.”

“Nevertheless, as the leadership of the ruling party in power, the controversy over the LH (Korea Land and Housing Corporation) situation caused unavoidable concern for the people’s controversy,” he said. “I am sorry. I am sorry. I do not lose my duty as a public official. I do not lose my duty as a public official. I will manage myself more strictly,” he said.
