‘Chrysanthemum’ cannot be found in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China, which is known as the source of the Corona 19 virus.
According to Hong Kong’s South China Morning Post (SCMP) on the 13th (local time), Wuhan residents bought all the chrysanthemums to take them to the graves or homes of their families who died of Corona 19 during the Lunar New Year Lunar New Year. He said that the chrysanthemum had gone out.
In China, after midnight on the first day of the lunar new year, there is a custom of wreathing chrysanthemums and burning incense to commemorate those who died last year. In particular, many people died from Corona 19 this year, and many residents bought white and yellow chrysanthemums.
A local Wuhan resident, who stayed at home to avoid the crowds this year, said that there were traffic jams and people fighting to buy flowers near Xunrimen, Wuhan’s largest flower market.
Wholesalers near the market said that the chrysanthemum was partially in demand, but sold out due to a shortage caused by Corona 19. In Wuhan, a single chrysanthemum cost 100 yuan (17,230 won).
Wuhan was blocked for 76 days last year as the epicenter of Corona 19. The official death toll of Corona 19, as revealed by Chinese authorities, is 3869.
In the midst of this, major media such as Mainland China’s Bridegroom Network (新浪網·Sina News) and Hubei Economic TV said they were shopping for the New Year for the crowds of Wuhan’s flower market, and they bought consensus online.
In the article on the bridegroom’s net, “Did you fully explain what kind of flowers they bought? They needed flowers for incense and they sold out. Do you know where people have gone after midnight?”
The comment was deleted, but it was disseminated through Weibo by Chinese historian Tanboniu (譚伯牛), and 120,000 likes and 27,000 were shared.
