Blizzard introduced some of the details of the 9.1 patch’Chain of Domination’ update at the’WoW’ developer interview held on the 21st, the second day of the annual game festival BlizzConline.
Earlier, Blizzard first unveiled the’Chain of Domination’ trailer at the opening ceremony on the 20th. In the trailer, Anduin, who has been corrupted by a guard, appears.
Anduin, who was ruled by the jailer’s power and defeated Cyrestia, offers the jailer a chalamane engraved with a rune that absorbed the soul of Cyrestia. To Anduin like that, the guard says, “There are still three keys left,” and Sylvanas stares at Anduin from the side. Anduin, the guard, and Sylvanas are all key characters in’Dark Land’, and their stories will continue in the update.
As expected by gamers who watched the trailer video, Blizzard explained that Anduin had become dominated by the power of a guard in this expansion pack.
Blizzard chief narrative designer Steve Danuser, who attended the interview that day, said, “Anduin is showing a bondage to the power of the guard. But, because he is still conscious, he confirmed what he had done and felt fear. These parts are part of the story that will unfold in future expansion packs.”
The final boss of the’Chain of Domination’ is Sylvanas. “Sylvanas is a very important character in WoW, and he has already written a story about his relationship with the guard and Anduin,” said Blizzard Chief Game Designer Morgan Day. “The first part was introduced at the time of’Darklands’ release, and this time the second story It’s public,” he said.
However, Blizzard hinted that Anduin would not die completely. This is because Anduin appears in a previously published comics set in the far future.
Designer Steve said, “The scene from the comics is a point of view of a very distant future, but it is also true that Anduin was taken prisoner by a guard and he was mentally controlled,” he said. “The scenes in this expansion are going towards the scenes in the comics. In the future, there will be many stories related to this.”
In the new patch 9.1, a new field’Cortia’ will be opened, a new huge dungeon’Veiled Market Tajavesh’ with 8 bosses and a new raid dungeon’Sacred Place of Domination’ with 10 bosses will be added. In addition, you can unlock flight abilities in several areas, and the Darklands raid and dungeons, PvP season 2, etc. will also begin. It is expected to increase the volume of the existing’dark land’ content. However, Blizzard did not announce a specific update timing at this BlizzCon.
Meanwhile, Blizzard announced that the release of’WoW Burning Crusade Classic’ at BlizzCon will also take place this year. The Burning Crusade’s classic server will be added to’WoW Classic’. Gamers can choose whether to transfer their existing WoW Classic characters to the Age of Burning Crusade with other Horde and Alliance Heroes on the server, or continue their original WoW Classic content adventure on the’Classic Age’ server that will be introduced with the release of Burning Crusade Classic. .
Blizzard also plans to provide an additional level 58 character upgrade service when the expansion pack is about to be released. However, it is not possible to use character upgrades on the classic era server. Blizzard announced that it will be conducting beta testing of the Burning Crusade Classic as soon as possible, but the price and release schedule were not disclosed on this day.
