‘Buttercup’ resembling’parasite’… It’s similar to being nominated for six categories.

The movie’Minari’, a movie about the story of a Korean family who moved to the United States in the 1980s, did a great job.

Minari was named in six categories in the final nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards presented by the American Academy of Film Arts.

In addition to the Academy Award for Best Honor, Director, Best Supporting Actress, Best Actor, Screenplay, and Music Awards are all six categories.

Actor Yoon Yeo-jung, who has been in 50 years since his debut this year, set the record for becoming the first Korean actor to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in 100 years of Korean film history.

Last year, director Bong Joon-ho’s’Parasite’ was nominated for 6 categories and won 4 categories, including Best Works, but this is the first time a Korean actor has been nominated for the Academy Award for Actor.

Yoon Yeo-jung “I can’t drink alcohol, so I have to celebrate myself.”

Yoon Yeo-jung said in an interview with the Associated Press that “I couldn’t even think about it at all,” and that the nomination was “a different world story.”

He said he heard the news from his manager that he was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress right after arriving in Korea after finishing the drama filming schedule in Vancouver, Canada. He said he learned that he was nominated for an Oscar an hour after arriving at the airport.

Yoon Yeo-jung said, “The manager is much younger than me, but when I was browsing the Internet, I suddenly told me,’Wow, I was nominated’. The manager cried, but I didn’t cry (because I was confused).”

“The manager became more emotional than me (at the news of the Oscar nomination), and I felt stupid too,” he said. “So I just hugged the manager and stayed in the living room.”

Yoon Yeo-jeong has just returned from Canada, so she has to spend a quarantine period to prevent COVID-19. “Everyone will want to come here (to congratulate), but I will congratulate with my manager because there is no way to come here.”

“The problem is that the manager can’t drink at all,” he said. “So, I have to drink alone.

The manager will watch me drink,” he said with a joke to convey his congratulations to the fans.

The production crew of’Minari’ said through their Twitter account, “‘Minari’ has made history,” and “All of the’Minari’ family have been nominated for very nice and wonderful nominations in six categories.”

Director Isak Jeong “I’m proud of all my family.”

Director Lee Isaac Jung (Korean name Jeong Isaac), who directed the movie’Minari’, expressed his feelings, “My heart is overwhelmed.”

In an interview with the American film media’Deadline’, director Jung responded that “I couldn’t catch up with what happened today with my head and organize it,” and that he wasn’t expecting’Minari’ to be nominated for several categories.

Director Jung said, “Because we made’Buttercup’ as a team and as a family, this (Oscar nomination) means a lot to me.”

He also said that this time, he was nominated for an academy and accepted it more humbly because it means that he was recognized by his fellow filmmakers. He said he was “happy” that’Minari’ received respect and praise.

Director Jung emphasized that he was even more delighted that the theme consciousness of’Minari’ is spreading beyond the Asian community to other communities as well.

“What I’m trying to convey in this film is that we are humans above all else,” he said. He said he was discouraged by the recent surge in violence targeting Asians in the United States, but hoped’Buttercup’ would bring unity.

Foreign media “opened a new era in the movie’Buttercup'”

Foreign media are also paying attention to the movie’Minari’, which depicts the Korean family’s settlement in the United States.

The Los Angeles Times reported that Minari opened a new era with six nominations, and Reuters said the touching story of a family of Korean immigrants received an Oscar nomination.

Forbes magazine said, “Minari tells the story of a family of Korean immigrants struggling to take root in an unfamiliar place. It’s a story of a Korean-American family, but it’s also a story of how immigrants make America.”

Foreign media also showed great interest in the nominations for the Oscars for Yoon Yeo-jung and Stephen Yeon.

Reuters reported that “Yeo-jung Yoon, who played the role of grandmother (Korea) in Minari, became the first Korean actor to be nominated for an Best Supporting Actor Award.” The Associated Press reported that “Steven Yeon was the first Asian-American actor to be nominated for the Best Actor Award.” I did.

Who is the competitor of’Buttercup’?… ‘Nomadland’ for Best Picture and’Mank’ for Director

The 93rd Academy Awards ceremony will be held on the 25th of next month in Los Angeles, USA.

Works and actors nominated for the next month or so will be working for the award.

The most powerful rival of the movie’Buttercup’ is directed by Chloe Zhao’s’Nomadland’.

Netflix movies’Trial of the Chicago 7’and’Mank’ are also considered major rivals.

Gold Derby, a media specializing in predicting the Hollywood Awards, which accurately predicted the six nominations for’Buttercup’, is picking’Nomadland’ as the No. 1 Best Prize Nominee.

‘Nomadland’ by Chloe Zhao, a young Chinese director based in the United States, describes a woman living in a collapsed corporate city, leaving her normal life behind and taking a van to find a new life.

This film won 194 trophies in the world, including the Golden Lion Award at the Venice International Film Festival last year.

Director Chloe Zhao is also the most influential in the directorial award.

Director Zhao, from Beijing, China, was nominated for the Golden Camera Award at the Cannes International Film Festival for his feature film debut,’Song My Brother Teached’ (2015), and received attention at once.

The third feature film,’Nomadland’, received 78 directors, screenplays, and editorial awards.

I was also named in these three categories in this Academy Nomination.

Another directorial nominee is David Fincher, who directed the Netflix movie Mank.

‘Mank’, which deals with the birth of’Citizen Kane’, which is considered one of the greatest films in the United States, is a new work released six years after’Find Me’ by Fincher, and is an ambitious work that has been cherished for nearly 30 years.

With the last quote from Yoon Yeo-jung, who plays the grandmother role in’Minari’, to her grandchildren, I look forward to seeing the movie’Minari’ raising the trophy in all six categories.

“”Buttercup grows well no matter where you are and keeps everyone, rich or poor, healthy.” I put it in soup, and when I’m sick, it’s also medicine, and water parsley is called Wonderful.”
