A woman who stole a computer from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office during the raid on the Capitol is under investigation by authorities for attempting to sell it to Russian intelligence agencies.

According to Reuters on the 18th (local time), the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) made the same statement about the suspect Riley June Williams in a record filed with the DC Federal District Court.

“Williams tried to send a computer device to a friend in Russia, and that friend planned to sell the device to SVR, a Russian foreign intelligence agency,” said an informant who identified in this record as Williams’ ex-lover.

The informant added, “For unknown reasons, an attempt to send a computer device to Russia has failed, and Williams still owns or destroys it.”

According to the FBI, Williams came out of an address near Harris Bus, Pennsylvania, where her mother lived, deactivating her phone number and deleting her social media (SNS) account.

Earlier, after President Donald Trump’s supporters raided the Capitol on the 6th, Pelosi’s spokesman Drew Hamill said in Pelosi’s office that a laptop computer used for presentations had been stolen.

Acting US Attorney General Michael Sherwin said some of the thieves who raided the Capitol and stole items at the time were “possibly threatening national security.”
