It has been confirmed that Suwon District Prosecutors, who is investigating the allegations of Kim Hak-ei, former Vice Minister of Justice, banning illegal departure from the High-ranking Public Officials Crime Investigation Office (KAI), asked for the preservation of CCTV footage of the Seoul Central District Prosecutor’s Office Lee Seong-yoon. The Ministry of Public Service announced that it is considering the request of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office.
The Ministry of Public Transport announced on the 5th that the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office asked the Ministry of Public Transport to preserve the entire CCTV footage in the Airborne Ministry’s office on the day of the private investigation of the District Prosecutor’s Office on the 2nd.
Earlier, on the 7th of last month, the Ministry of Public Transport summoned Lee District Prosecutor’s Office to the government office of the Gwacheon Government Office and conducted a closed investigation. The Airborne Ministry provided the official vehicle for the Airborne Forces to the District Prosecutor’s Office.
The Ministry of Public Service only responded to the request of the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office, saying, “We are still discussing how to respond.” The Ministry of Public Service said, “The CCTV inside the government office containing this district prosecutor was submitted to the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office,” but the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office said that it applied for a preservation request, saying, “The images have not been submitted.”
It is known that the video, which is being kept by the airlift, will be automatically deleted on the 7th. Therefore, it is observed that there is a possibility that the Suwon District Prosecutor’s Office may engage in forced investigations, such as seizure and search, if the air defense agency does not accept the prosecution’s request for preservation. If the prosecution conducts a seizure and search of the airlift, the conflict between the prosecution and airlift, which is spreading over the prosecution of prosecutor Lee Gyu-won, is expected to further amplify.
Meanwhile, from the 5th, the Ministry of Public Transport will conduct interview screening for level 4-7 investigators. The Ministry of Airlift will appoint the chief prosecutor and prosecutor of the Ministry of Public Transport this week and begin a full-fledged investigation.
