The government plans to hire about 6,000 people in vaccination centers and about 25,000 people in medical and administrative personnel in general medical institutions by securing human resources trained for vaccine characteristics. To this end, the private sector dispatches medical personnel groups and volunteer groups such as the Korean Medical Association, the Korean Hospital Association, and the Korean Nursing Association, and related ministries dispatch doctors and nurses in public affairs and public hospitals, military doctors and military nurses, and administrative personnel, respectively.
A system for managing adverse reactions after vaccination is also established. The government is also planning to closely manage the entire process, such as vaccine supply and demand management, vaccination guidance, advance reservation, vaccination registration, and monitoring of adverse reactions by establishing a separate integrated system for COVID-19 vaccination.
Meanwhile, the government has signed vaccine purchase contracts with the international project’COVAX facility’ and four pharmaceutical companies such as AstraZeneca, Janssen, Pfizer and Modena, securing a total of 56 million people. In addition, the purchase contract for 20 million people with Nova Bax is almost completed, and when the contract is finalized, a total of 76 million people will be secured. Among them, when the initial volume of Kobax reaches 50,000, it will be the first to enter Korea early next month. The AstraZeneca vaccine is expected to be introduced from February to March, the Janssen Modena vaccine will be introduced in the second quarter, and the Pfizer vaccine will be introduced in the third quarter.
