Attorney Park Ji-hoon of Hyun, a law firm who raised suspicion of sexual violence in the past of Ki Sung-yong, a former national football team, is drawing attention. Attorney Park is attracting attention as he is raising the level of pressure to “disclose evidence” by defending Mr. C and Mr. D who allege that he was sexually assaulted by Ki Sung-yong in elementary school.
According to the current website of the law firm on the 3rd, attorney Park Ji-hoon has been dealing with numerous corporate-related disputes such as corporate advisory and M&A-related cases, including corporate law, since starting his attorney in 2006. It has handled joint ventures and M&A-related advisory services.
Attorney Park, from Seoul National University’s Department of English Literature, is currently working as a partner attorney at Law Firm Hyun, after completing the 35th Judicial Research and Training Institute.
In addition to corporate advisory, Mr. Park is a veteran in the field of sports and entertainment law, and is recognized for his unrivaled position in the field of sports law by taking charge of disputes and litigations related to sports law in Korea.
Based on this experience, he served as the secretary general of the Sports Culture Research Institute and a member of the Special Committee for Improving the Performance of the 2018 PyeongChang Paralympic Games. He is currently serving as a special professor at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, Faculty of International Sports and Leisure.
Attorney Park initially announced that he would disclose evidence proving the sexual violence of Ki Sung-yong, but delayed the release of the evidence for’protection of moral rights’ and faced a chilling reaction from public opinion. When Ki Sung-yong held a press conference and refuted “I will take legal action without mercy,” and then changed the policy to disclose evidence, a criticism came out of being a’popularity’.
