Nevertheless, victims cannot easily report or raise problems. Among the victims, only 37.4% (136 cases) of sexual harassment were raised or reported. Among those who raised and reported issues, 52.9% (72 cases) suffered’active’ penalties such as bullying, rumors, exclusion, personnel issuance, and dismissal, while 37.5% (51) experienced’passive’ penalties such as ignoring and not handling reports. did.

Ji-young Yoon, a sympathetic lawyer at the Public Interest Human Rights Law Foundation, who participated in the investigation said, “In Korea, sexual harassment is legalized separately from harassment in the workplace. It is analyzed that the reporting rate is low as there are many cases of retaliation rather than improving the working environment after reporting. The victims must be thoroughly protected so that they can report them without worry.”
