According to the’Corona 19 Vaccination Plan’ announced by the health authorities earlier, a total of 43.55 million people will be vaccinated this year.

The decision was made by reviewing whether there is a need to prevent serious or death, whether there are priorities in maintaining essential functions such as medical, quarantine, and social functions, and whether it is necessary to block transmission to local communities.
It is also based on these considerations that the vaccination started from yesterday in hospitals, residents, and workers under the age of 65 in nursing hospitals and facilities.
However, the detailed vaccination schedule after February to March is expected to be detailed in consideration of future vaccine supply and demand status and vaccination conditions.
On the first day of vaccination, yesterday, vaccinations began for 5,266 residents and workers under the age of 65 at 213 nursing homes and mental care and rehabilitation facilities nationwide.
They receive vaccinations either by visiting a local public health center or by visiting the facility by a health center vaccination staff.
In 292 nursing hospitals nationwide, where vaccination is administered according to its own plan, vaccination is performed within 5 days from yesterday.
Starting today, workers at COVID-19 patient treatment institutions receive vaccinations at local and regional vaccination centers and in-house vaccination institutions, starting with the Central Vaccination Center established at the National Medical Center in Jung-gu, Seoul.
Afterwards, health care professionals, such as doctors and nurses working at senior hospitals, general hospitals, and hospitals, and 119 paramedics, epidemiological investigations, and quarantine personnel receive the AstraZeneca vaccine in March.
In the second quarter (April-June), vaccination is expected to begin for those hospitalized and admitted to the elderly aged 65 years or older in nursing hospitals and nursing facilities, who were initially scheduled to receive the vaccine in the first quarter.
The government decided to confirm the final vaccination by additionally checking clinical data on the effectiveness of the AstraZeneca vaccination in the elderly by the end of March.
In addition, ▲ users and workers of homeless welfare facilities for the elderly ▲ elderly people 65 years or older ▲ workers in medical institutions and pharmacies that were not included in the vaccination in the first quarter ▲ residents and workers in facilities such as the disabled and homeless are also eligible for vaccination at this time.
When the 1st quarter targets 1.3 million and the 2nd quarter targets 9 million, the total number of vaccinations for the first half of the year is 13 million.
From the third quarter (July-September), when the second half begins, the number of vaccination targets is greatly expanded as all adults are included.
Adults aged 18-64, including chronically ill patients, will receive the vaccination at this time, and essential social personnel such as soldiers, police, fire, and social infrastructure workers, and children and youth education and childcare workers are also eligible for vaccination.
As most of the vaccines introduced in Korea require 2 vaccinations, vaccinations are provided for the 2nd vaccination and non-vaccinated people in the 4th quarter (October to December).

In a briefing on the 20th, Jung Kyung-sil, head of the vaccination management team of the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team, said, “If the subject refuses to be vaccinated, it will be transferred to a subordinate rank. Just think about it.”
The total number of people eligible for vaccination in the third to fourth quarters is 33.25 million.
Regarding the vaccination schedule for the second half of this year, the authorities explained, “We will consider the vaccination sequence, but will promote an effective national vaccination method in consideration of the expansion of the amount of vaccination introduced.”
