Singer Whee-Sung (39) admitted most of the charges of taking propofol, a sleeping anesthetic. The prosecution asked Wheesung to be sentenced to three years in prison.
According to Andong Ji-won of the Daegu District Law on the 22nd, a trial was held between Wheesung and his acquaintance A, whom the prosecution indicted without custody on the charges of violating the Narcotics Control Act on the 19th.
On this day, the prosecution requested Wheesung to sentence him to three years in prison, and Wheesung was said to have admitted most of the prosecution charges. Wheesung is accused of taking Propofol several times around December 2019.
In April of last year, the Gyeongsangbuk-do Police Agency investigated Wheesung in an imprisoned state and sent it to the prosecution with an opinion of prosecution. At the time, the police investigated and caught Wheesung’s purchase of Propofol in the process of checking drug-related intelligence.
Wheesung’s sentence is scheduled to be held on March 9.
Earlier, Wheesung was found collapsed in a bathroom in a building in Songpa-gu, Seoul last March. The police presumed that Wheesung had administered an unknown solution, and conducted a simple urine test. However, the drug test resulted in a negative reaction, so the criminal case was not.
However, it is known that there was a vial with’Etomy Date’ written on it at the time. Etomydate is a general anesthesia inducer called’second propofol’. It is known that excessive administration of etomidate can cause respiratory arrest.
Etomydate is a white emulsion-based injection in a transparent ampoule, and unlike propofol, it is not classified as a drug.
