As the controversy over the history distortion of SBS’s Monday-Tuesday drama’Chosun Gumasa’ arose, companies are deciding to support production and cancel advertisements. This seems to be a response to the outbreak of boycotts as the list of companies advertising the drama, mainly online, spreads.

On the 23rd, Kojima, a massage chair sales company, posted a notice on its homepage stating that “All production support and advertisements for’Chosun Gu Massage’ have been withdrawn.” Kojima said, “After recognizing the related issue, we requested withdrawal of the advertisement immediately, but due to the circumstances of the broadcaster, the advertisement was inevitably sent out on the 22nd.” Revealed.

Ho Gwan-won, one of the three companies that participated in the banner ad appearing in the ending of’Chosun Gumasa’, also decided to cancel the contract. Ho Kwan-won explained, “When we signed the production support contract, we did not receive the synopsis and script.” LG H&H also announced that it had canceled the advertisements after this day, and Ace Bed also announced through its official Instagram account that “we have recognized the issue of the program in question and will immediately stop advertising.”

Newon, which sells diet products, apologized to the official Instagram, saying, “If I do not stop advertising, I will think that the meaning is the same as the drama.” He added, “We will take action as soon as possible after checking with the officials of the broadcasting company.”

‘Joseongu Masa’ is a fusion historical drama about Taejong and Chungnyeongdaegun (later Sejong) saving the people against evil spirits from the West Station. On the first broadcast on the 22nd, there was a scene where Chungnyeongdaegun treats a foreign priest with mooncakes, Chinese dumplings, and pidan (saked duck eggs) at a gisaeng house in Joseon, and criticizes the distortion of history. In addition, it was pointed out that Taejong described the Joseon royal family negatively, such as slaughtering innocent people after seeing the vision of Lee Seong-gye, or the Choongnyeong Daegun being ignored by the military officer, and standing up and pouring alcohol from the Kuma priest.

Accordingly, the production crew said, “It was set to explain the location of the characters in the far-off side of Hanyang in the play, but there was no special intention at all.” “We are sorry for the inconvenience caused by the scene that could be misunderstood in sensitive times.” Bowed.

However, even with this clarification, a petition for the Blue House petition to stop airing, evaluating it as a’Northeast Fair Drama’, came up.

The previous work’Queen Iron Man’ by the author of’Chosun Gumasa’ expressed the first week of the broadcast as’Annals of the Joseon Dynasty’ as’Jirasi’ and received recommendations from the Korea Communications Standards Commission, causing controversy over history distortion.
