Enraged murder on the back of “Smells from your body”
A 60-year-old man in his 60s who murdered his wife, who had been remarried less than 20 days after he remarried, was sentenced to a stronger sentence in an appeals court for making harsh comments about his daughter.
Daejeon High Court Increases Imprisonment From 10 Years to 2 Years
In an appeal trial against Mr. A (60), who was sentenced to 10 years in prison at the first trial for murder on the 12th, the first criminal division of the Daejeon High Court (Director Seung-yeop Baek) revoked the lower court and sentenced him to 12 years in prison. Mr. A lived together in Chungbuk after getting married in August of last year with a woman in her mid 40s, whom she had known for many years, and often quarreled over lifestyles.
The incident occurred on the way home after a couple’s fight, after going to play on the west coast of Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do for reconciliation. At that time, Mr. A, who had a conversation while drinking alcohol on a bridge in Gongju City, became infuriated when he heard gossip from his wife, and assaulted his wife with a blunt instrument in her car and strangled him. The victim, who was being treated at the hospital, died on the 18th day after reporting the marriage and a week after being assaulted.
Mr. A claimed, “My wife made a gossip, saying,’My daughter smells like her body’ or’My daughter doesn’t clean well. Your daughter lives too dirty. The room is like a pig cage because I don’t clean the room properly.’ did. In response, the first trial court sentenced him to 10 years in prison, saying, “We considered murdering accidentally while arguing.”
However, the court of appeals trial sentenced Mr. A to a higher sentence than the first trial. The judge ruled, “Even though the victim and the victim suffered stress during a short marriage, the centrifugal sentence for this crime, which neglected his life, is too light.”
