“We will invest 3112 billion won in support for new and renewal of self-consumption houses and buildings”

12% increase over the previous year… Building solar power support limit increased to 200kW
Significantly expand the budget for supporting lighting in the form of integrated buildings from 500 million to 10.5 billion
Convergence support budget expanded to 157.7 billion, a 40% increase from the previous year

[에너지데일리 변국영 기자] When the owner of a house or building installs new and renewable energy facilities for self-consumption, 3112 billion won will be invested in the’new and renewable energy supply support project’ to support installation costs.

On the 5th, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy announced the’new and renewable energy supply support project (housing support, building support, etc.)’ in 2021 and receives applications. This year’s business scale was set at 311.2 billion won, an increase of 12% (33 billion won) compared to last year, reflecting the growing demand for new and renewable energy installations.

143.5 billion won will be provided for housing and building support. Starting this year, we have increased the capacity for solar power subsidies in buildings from 50kW to 200kW in consideration of the high desired installation capacity for factories and distribution warehouses. In addition, support for new technology-applied facilities such as building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) and pilot distribution projects to promote the commercialization of products developed through national R&D was expanded.

167.7 billion won will be invested in convergence support and regional support. Convergence Support supports installation costs for projects that converge two or more types of renewable energy sources such as solar, solar, and geothermal energy for the target of complex support such as housing, shopping malls, and public institutions. Local support supports the installation of new and renewable energy facilities in buildings and facilities owned or managed by local governments, and social welfare facilities. In particular, reflecting the growing demand for local participation in the Green New Deal, the budget for convergence support in 2021 was expanded to 157.7 billion won, a 40% increase from the previous year’s budget.

Meanwhile, in the case of convergence support projects and regional support projects, it is planned to select a local government (or consortium) to perform the project after receiving applications for the project in 2022, and will be finally selected in September after public evaluation and general evaluation. to be. In this competition, in order to expand the supply of new and renewable energy facilities to local public facilities and social welfare facilities, such as community centers and village halls, the proportion of local government spending was increased and exceeded the rate of implementation of mandatory installation of new and renewable energy by local governments. It is possible to support the installed capacity from the design stage.

In addition, in consideration of the purpose of the convergence support project, the system was reorganized to expand the supply of various new and renewable energy sources, such as granting additional points when supplying energy sources other than solar power over a certain ratio, such as solar heat and geothermal heat.

The Ministry of Industry said that through the supply support project, the supply of new and renewable energy facilities of a total of 295MW will be expanded by utilizing idle spaces such as building rooftops and parking lots, resulting in an annual reduction of 58 billion won in electricity bills and an annual reduction of 170,000 tCO2 of carbon dioxide.
