Volvo’s first pure electric car’C40 Recharge’ unveiled… Drive up to 420 km

On the 3rd, Volvo Motors unveiled the world’s first next-generation pure electric vehicle’Volvo C40 Recharge’, which symbolizes a clean future through electrification.

Designed on the basis of the CMA platform, the C40 Recharge is the brand’s first pure electric vehicle exclusively for electric vehicles. Volvo, which previously launched the XC40 recharge model on the global market, plans to launch several more pure electric vehicles in the future to convert all models sold to pure electric vehicles by 2030.

“The C40 Recharge represents Volvo’s future and shows where we are going,” said Henrik Green, Volvo Chief Technology Officer. .

The C40 Recharge has the advantages of a sports utility vehicle (SUV) and is designed with a lower and more sophisticated design. In addition to the electric Volvo’s new face with headlights with state-of-the-art pixel technology, the rear has a unique design that connects to the lower roofline.

The interior has a high seat position, favored by most Volvo drivers, and is available in a variety of colors and decors available as model-specific options. It was also the first Volvo model to use no leather at all.

The thrust consists of twin electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, and is powered by a 78kWh battery that can charge up to 80% in 40 minutes. The maximum driving distance per charge is about 420km (based on WLTP).

The C40 Recharge can be purchased online in accordance with Volvo’s new EV sales strategy. The company plans to build a purchasing process in collaboration with retail partners to reduce the complexity of customers and make ordering simpler and more convenient. Special packages such as service, warranty, and charging options that maximize customer convenience by integrating online and offline are provided.

Mass production of the C40 Recharge will begin this fall and will be produced at the Ghent plant in Belgium along with the XC40 Recharge.
