The battery market is also fluctuating as automakers such as Volkswagen and Tesla are stepping up to manufacture batteries one after another.

German Volkswagen, the world’s second largest electric vehicle maker after Tesla.
It is the most important big hand customer for Korean battery companies.
That Volkswagen announced a new battery strategy yesterday.
It means that the battery will be produced in-house in the future.

“We will introduce standardized battery products starting in 2023. We plan to run more than six Giga factories across Europe, producing 40 GW per hour.”
Batteries are largely in pouch type, cylindrical shape, and square shape.
LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation have supplied pouch types to Volkswagen.
However, Volkswagen said it would make a square battery instead of a pouch in the future.
Due to concerns that important customers may fall, LG Chem and SK Innovation’s stock prices fell by more than 7% and 5%, respectively, today.
The global battery market is growing explosively.
The expected volume this year is already 10 times that of last year.
As a result, both Volkswagen and Tesla are declaring that they will directly enter the battery manufacturing process.
Korean companies are still leading the market, but there is no guarantee that they will continue to do so.

“It means that both the US and Europe will produce batteries in their own countries, which depended on Japan and China. Competition in the battery market is intensifying.”
LG Energy Solution and SK Innovation had a battle today over the issue of compensation for patent infringement.
In the face of the war over the growing battery market, neither nationality nor national borders seem to have much meaning.
