Valve announced on the 5th that it will stop developing PC Online Card Battle Artifact 2.0.

Valve said through a Steam announcement that they were satisfied with the game completion level of Artifact 2.0, but decided to stop development because the level of user acquisition did not reach the level to continue the actual development.

Artifact is a card battle game that utilizes Dota2 intellectual property rights (IP) released in November 2018.

Valve announced the development of Artifact 2.0, a rework version to solve the fundamental problem of the game, in March 2019, as user criticism continued after the Artifact release and stopped updating the game.

The Artifact and the Artifact Beta 2.0 version developed so far will be available for free on Steam in the future. Card pack sales will be discontinued, and users can use all cards for free.

In addition, previously purchased cards are converted into collector’s options and can be traded on the Steam marketplace. However, the marketplace integrated in the artifact is deleted.

“Thanks to all the Artifact users and to everyone who helped create the Artifact Foundry. We believe this decision is the best way for the community. We are proud of the work we have done so far and will be enjoyed by more users,” Valve said. I’m glad to be able to do it,” he said.
