Spanish professional footballer Valencia officially expressed regret for the’racist remarks’ recently made to their team player Mukhtar Diakabi.

Valencia’s Diacabi heard a remark from her opponent Juan Cala as “a damn black kid” during the 2020-21 La Liga round 29 confrontation with Cadiz on the 5th (Korean time). When Diakabi heard this, he protested fiercely, and Valencia players boycotted the game as a group, stopping the game for nearly 30 minutes.

As a result, Valencia expressed regret for the situation by announcing its official position through its website on the 5th.

Valencia said, “We are disappointed that no formal disciplinary action has been imposed on Diakabi’s racism,” he said. “We believe that further investigation will be conducted.” Valencia added, “We are proud that our players have left the stadium in support of Diakabi’s decision.”

At the time, Valencia players boycotted the game, protesting Carla’s remarks. However, Diakabi revealed that “I want other players to finish the game” and the game resumed 30 minutes later.

Valencia said, “We will strongly oppose all racism and protect Diakabi.”

Meanwhile, Cadiz’s coach Alvaro Serbera said, “We cannot confirm whether Kala made racist remarks.” “If the police investigation proceeds, we will help as much as possible.”
