A 1 ton truck loaded with AstraZeneca (AZ)’s novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine was loaded onto the air force transport plane C-130 as it was.

The destination of the C-130, which took off from Seongnam Seoul Airport at 2:18 pm on the 19th with a whole vaccine transport vehicle, was destined for Jeju International Airport. The Marine Corps military police and police vehicles lined up in front of and behind the vehicle unloaded from the transport plane.

It took less than 10 minutes to depart from the airport and get to the Jeju City Public Health Center, one of the corona19 vaccination institutions.

It took less than 7 hours for the vaccine shipped from SK Bioscience’s Andong plant in Gyeongbuk to arrive at the Jeju City Health Center via the Icheon Logistics Center in Gyeonggi-do at 9 am on that day.

The second pan-government simulation training was conducted on the assumption that the AstraZeneca vaccine shipped from the Andong plant in Korea on the 24th was delivered to 25 inoculation institutions scattered across the country.

This is the final rehearsal before vaccination.

In particular, in preparation for situations in which transportation by civil aviation or ship is difficult or urgent transportation is necessary to island areas such as Jeju Island, military transport planes have been mobilized, reminiscent of military operations.

Assuming the vaccine was transported to Ulleungdo, a military helicopter (HH-47) was used.

At 2 pm, the vaccine, which was transferred from the Icheon distribution center to the special forces heliport, was loaded onto the waiting HH-47 helicopter.

The helicopter did not actually start, but training was conducted on Ulleungdo assuming that the vaccine was airlifted by helicopter.

A vaccine transport vehicle, escorted by a naval vehicle, transported the vaccine arriving at the Ulleungdo Naval Forces to the Ulleungdo Health and Medical Center. Ulleungdo is expected to take about 8 hours from vaccine shipment to the Andong factory to transfer to local inoculation centers.

The AstraZeneca vaccine shipped from SK Bioscience’s Andong plant from 9 a.m. and loaded on a 5 ton truck left the plant at 10 a.m.

A 5t spare truck followed behind the truck loaded with the vaccine, and convoy vehicles such as the police, military police, and police commandos lined up in a long line.

The vaccine, which arrived at the Icheon Logistics Center at noon via the Jungang Expressway and Yeongdong Expressway, was sent to the refrigerated warehouse under the confirmation and supervision of the Transportation Support Headquarters and the military police.

In this process, the main inspection items were whether the standard temperature in the warehouse was maintained, loading the vaccine based on the concept of first-in-first-out, and whether there was any abnormality in the vaccine during the shipment process.

The training, organized by the Corona 19 Vaccine Transportation Support Division (hereinafter referred to as Transportation Support Division), was led by the Ministry of Defense, and participated by the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the National Police Agency, the Fire Department, health centers, local vaccination agencies, and distribution companies.

The mobilization of more than 70 people from the Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, including about 100 people in the military, 40 people in the police, 50 people in private companies, and officials from local health centers, has surpassed 300.

Kim An-hyeon, head of the Deogyang-gu Health Center in Goyang City, who participated in the simulation training, said, “The first vaccine was delivered to the vaccination site safely and securely by the military and the police,” he said.

An official from the Transportation Support Headquarters said, “This simulation training was conducted as it was in practice by integrating the private, government, military, and police to observe the actual vaccine distribution procedure from start to finish.” It is meaningful that the participants participated in the final inspection of the distribution procedure before vaccination.”

On this day, the simulation training ends with delivery of the Baeknyeongdo Health Center in the northernmost part of the West Sea in the late afternoon.
