In Korea, nearly 800 cases reported to health authorities after receiving a new coronavirus infection (Corona 19) vaccine, claiming that an adverse reaction was suspected.

According to the Corona 19 Vaccination Response Promotion Team on the 12th, 789 cases were reported as adverse reactions after vaccination as of 0 o’clock on the day.

There were no further reports of death. The number of reported deaths to date is a cumulative 15.

The causality between death and vaccination has not been identified. Earlier, as a result of the review of the’Vaccination Damage Investigation Group’ meeting held on the 7th, the promotion team said, “It was tentatively judged as a case where the causality between adverse reactions and death after vaccination was difficult to recognize” regarding the previously reported 8 death cases have.

The number of suspected cases of’anaphylaxis’, a severe systemic allergic reaction, increased. Of these, three cases were related to the AstraZeneca vaccine and one case was related to the Pfizer vaccine.

The remaining 785 cases were reported as relatively mild symptoms such as headache, fever, nausea, and muscle pain.

As a result, since vaccination started on the 26th of last month, there have been 7,648 reports of suspected adverse reactions in Korea. As of 0 o’clock on this day, it is 1.4% of the 541,277 cumulative domestic vaccinators.

When looking at reports of adverse reactions by vaccine type, AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine related 7,567 cases, accounting for 98.9% of all reports. There were 81 reports (1.1%) related to Pfizer’s vaccine.

This appears to be due to the number of AstraZeneca vaccinations (526,000,414) far more than Pfizer vaccinations (19,863).

The reporting rate of adverse reactions compared to those inoculated was 1.4% for AstraZeneca vaccine and 0.4% for Pfizer vaccine.

By type of adverse reactions other than mild cases reported so far, there were 61 suspected cases of anaphylaxis (58 cases of AstraZeneca, 3 cases of Pfizer), 5 cases of serious suspicion such as convulsions or admission to the intensive care unit, and 15 cases of death. People.

Suspected cases of anaphylaxis are largely divided into anaphylaxis, anaphylactic shock, and anaphylactic reactions. Of the 61 cases reported so far, there were 60 cases of anaphylactic reaction and 1 case of anaphylactic shock.

Anaphylaxis-like reaction is a case where symptoms such as dyspnea and urticaria appear within 2 hours after vaccination. The symptoms are similar to anaphylaxis, but it is not a big problem because it can be improved with symptomatic therapy.

In addition, 7,567 cases, which account for 98.9% of all reports of adverse reactions, were mild cases such as muscle pain, headache, fever, and nausea, which can often appear after vaccination, the promotion team said.
