The nationwide delivery of AstraZeneca (AZ) vaccine, which was packaged at the distribution center in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do in the early morning of the 25th, one day before Korea’s first new coronavirus infectious disease (Corona 19) vaccination, began.
The vaccine shipped from the SK Bioscience factory in Andong-si, Gyeongbuk the day before was reclassified and packaged after working overnight at the Icheon GTR B&T distribution center, a distribution center specializing in pharmaceuticals.
One 1t refrigerated truck that left the logistics center dock at 5:50 am on the same day departed for the first time in front and rear escorts by police patrol vehicles and military police vehicles, and five more are scheduled to leave the dock. Of these six, five will deliver vaccines to Gyeongnam and one to Andong, Gyeongbuk.
Subsequently, trucks to other regions of the country are scheduled to depart sequentially.
In the dock, it takes time to transfer the vaccine contained in a small refrigerated container to a refrigerated truck, and 50 trucks in total of 6 units every 10 minutes are headed to public health centers and nursing hospitals around the country in turn.
In preparation for an accident, 10 spare vehicles were also deployed in major delivery sections by city and province.
The 3,900 doses of vaccine allocated to Jeju Island went through packaging work in the distribution center the day before, and arrived at Jeju Port on a ship that left Mokpo Port in the early morning of the day.
The amount of goods transported on this day is 173,000 people (347,000 shipments), and 163,000 people, 163,000500 people, 143,000 people, and 142,000 people are divided by day for the next four days. It is expected to be delivered to over 1,900 locations nationwide through the TV&T distribution center.
