Iron fences were placed around all federal government buildings and even checkpoints were installed, effectively blocking the entire city.

There are also signs of armed protests.

In Washington, a man was arrested by police while carrying a pistol and 500 live ammunition in a truck and trying to head to Congress.

The FBI is investigating whether 600 million won worth of bitcoin has been remitted to far-right organizations in the United States before the congressional riots and whether they are supported by adversaries.

Despite the controls reminiscent of the wartime situation, some far-right groups have announced that they will hold armed protests in major cities, including here in Washington, DC, as scheduled today (17th), raising tensions.
