The US Senate rejected the impeachment bill on the 13th (local time) in a vote on the impeachment trial for former President Donald Trump’s alleged incitement to a civil war.

According to foreign media such as Reuters, the Senate pleaded not guilty to former President Trump with 57 votes guilty and 43 not guilty in the vote on the impeachment bill.

Conviction for impeachment requires more than 67 votes from the Senate. With the Democratic Party and the Republican Party divided by 50 seats, 17 Republicans left the vote, but the result on this day was 10 votes short of the vote.

In the Republican Party, seven people were in favor of the conviction. Republicans Richard Burr, Bill Cassidy, Susan Collins, Lisa Merkoski, Mitt Romney, Van Seth and Pat Tumi have voted guilty, according to Reuters.
