It is the appearance of the United States not responding directly to North Korea, which has issued a warning message to the United States, criticizing the ROK-US joint exercises. Instead, it reaffirmed the principle of diplomacy and denuclearization as the goal of the United States.

White House spokesman Jen Saki said at a press briefing on the 16th (local time) when asked about the talks by North Korean Labor Party Vice President Kim Yeo-jeong, “We have nothing to comment or answer directly to the remarks from North Korea.” Saki said only that Secretary of State Tony Blincoln and Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin would meet with counterparts in South Korea and Japan to discuss regional security.

Saki also mentioned the schedule for Blincoln’s first high-level diplomatic talks with China since the inauguration of Joe Biden’s administration in Alaska on the 18th after a trip to Korea and Japan, and said that regional security issues will be discussed here as well. Saki said, “Our focus right now is to cooperate and coordinate with our partners and allies on a variety of issues, including security on the Korean Peninsula.” “Our goal will always be focused on diplomacy and denuclearization in North Korea,” he said.

In a talk released through media outlets in North Korea, such as the Labor newspaper, Kim condemned the ROK-US joint exercise and warned of the possibility of a catastrophe in inter-Korean relations, such as the destruction of the military agreement between the two Koreas and the reorganization of the inter-Korean organization for dialogue and exchange. Mr. Kim said, “I advise the new administration of the United States, who are suffering from body ailments because they want to breathe gunpowder in our land from across the ocean. It would be nice.” This is the first official mention of the Biden administration by North Korea, which has been consistently “no response” to the United States’ attempts to contact North Korea.
