US National Security Adviser “Difficult Talks with China”… China “We Have View” | Voice of America

White House National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said Thursday that he had a tough conversation over a wide range of issues at high-level talks between the United States and China.

Aide Sullivan told reporters the same day after three high-level US-China talks held for two days in Anchorage, Alaska.

“We expected a tough, straightforward conversation on a wide range of issues, and that’s exactly what we did.”

He also added that he had an opportunity to hear opinions from the Chinese side on issues that the two countries are having conflict with.

US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln says he has exchanged views on cyberattacks in China, pressure on Taiwan, and human rights abuses in Xinjiang, Tibet and Hong Kong.

Secretary Blincoln said the two sides have different interests in Iran, North Korea, Afghanistan and climate change, but the United States did what we had to do during the talks.

“On economy, trade and technology, we are reviewing this issue in close consultation with Congress, our allies and partners,” he said. I did.

Meanwhile, Yangzetsu, a political member in charge of diplomatic relations at the Communist Party, said after the meeting, “We had honest, constructive and fruitful conversations, but there were still differences of opinions.”

Wang Yi said that China’s sovereignty is a matter of principle and that China should not underestimate China’s determination to defend it.

The talks came amid heightened US-China relations with the first high-level meeting between the two countries since President Joe Biden took office in January.
