A report came out saying that Korea’s military power is the sixth strongest in the world.

According to a report by Global Fire Power (GFP), the US military power evaluation agency on the 16th, South Korea’s military power ranked 6th out of 138 countries in the world.

Korea’s military power index recorded 0.1621. This index is based on evaluations and figures for 40 fields such as population, troops, weapons, and defense budget, and the closer to ‘0’, the stronger the military power.

North Korea ranked 28th with a military power index of 0.4684. Compared to last year, it was pushed three steps. However, it received high praise for its troop size and the number of tanks, rocket launchers, self-propelled artillery, submarines, frigates, patrol ships, and fighters.

The U.S. was the country with the highest amount of national defense expenditure by GFP. The U.S. defense expenditure was $740.5 billion, more than four times that of China ($1782 billion), the second place.

Korea ranked 8th, one notch higher than last year, with 48 billion dollars. North Korea ranked 59th with $3.5 billion, jumping 15 places from 74th last year.
