The United States criticized “The Chinese government did not provide enough data during the investigation process” for the World Health Organization (WHO) saying that it has failed to identify the origin of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) in Wuhan, China.

According to Reuters, White House spokesman Jen Saki said at a briefing on the 9th (local time) regarding the results of the WHO investigation. ”

State Department spokesman Ned Price also stressed in a briefing that “the issue has not yet been concluded,” and “I clearly believe that China has not provided the necessary transparency, at least so far.” A spokesman for Price added that the United States will make decisions based on WHO data and its own information.

Earlier, Saki made it clear that the Biden administration also viewed the pandemic as originating in China. On the 27th of last month, he emphasized the investigation of the truth about the theory of the origin of Corona 19 in China.

Dr. Peter Ben Embarek, WHO’s food safety and homogenous disease expert who led the Corona 19 Origin Investigation Team, said on the day, “We couldn’t find any clear evidence to define whether Corona 19 originated in Wuhan or elsewhere.” We secured the information, but did not significantly change our understanding of Corona 19.

Also, regarding the Huanan fish market in Wuhan, he explained, “It was not the center of infection,” and that “the virus was already spreading outside the market a few weeks before December 2019 when the first patient was reported in Wuhan.” Dr. Liang Wannian, a member of China’s National Hygiene and Health Commission, also said, “Some of the initial cases of infection have nothing to do with the angry market.”
