Among the 5.3 million people who received the new coronavirus infection (COVID-19, Corona 19) vaccine in the United States, at least 29 had a serious allergic reaction, according to a report. It was found to be at the level of 5.5 per million people, about four times higher than the flu shot.

According to the Associated Press on the 6th (local time), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) found that at least 29 of the 5.3 million people who received the Corona 19 vaccine had suffered a “anaphylaxis” reaction until this day.

Anaphylaxis is a sudden systemic allergic immune response that occurs in our body. When foreign substances such as pathogens enter the body, our body generates an immune response for defense. At this time, a typical reaction is a reaction that makes a protein called an antibody that binds to a pathogen protein (antigen), recognizes the re-invasion of the pathogen, and surrounds the antigen. There are five types of antibodies made in mammals such as humans, including immunoglobulins (Ig) A, D, E, G, and M. Initially, IgM is produced, and later, IgG is produced, which is responsible for the major immune function. IgG accounts for about 75% of all antibodies.

IgE is an antibody that makes very few of these antibodies. IgE is made as low as 0.05% of all antibodies and is mainly involved in allergic reactions. IgE is attached to the surface of immune cells called’mast cells’. When an allergen (allergen) enters, it secretes histamine, a kind of neurotransmitter, causing an allergic reaction.

Anaphylaxis is a symptom that causes an acute systemic reaction similar to shock as this allergic reaction progresses rapidly. It can usually be caused by a small amount of foreign matter, and as soon as a few minutes after contact.

Convulsions in the bronchial muscles cause shortness of breath, lower blood pressure, and reduced blood flow to the brain, leading to dizziness or headache. In severe cases, you lose your mind. Sometimes hives appear on the mucous membrane of the skin and swelling in the blood vessels in the lips or tongue. Emergency measures, such as securing the airways, are necessary to avoid breathing difficulties, and treatment is performed by administering antihistamines, steroids, and epinephrine.

On the 23rd of last month, CDC released data on 1.9 million Americans who were vaccinated against the Corona 19 vaccine from US pharmaceutical companies Pfizer and Modena. Among them, 21 showed anaphylactic reaction. No one has lost 11.1 lives per million. The CDC added that the risk of the COVID-19 vaccine is low for most people.

“This vaccine is very safe even in 11 cases out of 1 million vaccinations,” said Nancy Messonier, director of the CDC’s National Center for Immunorespiratory Diseases. People must be vaccinated.”

CDC announced that it has distributed 1728,900 doses of the Corona 19 vaccine by the morning of the day. Of these, 5.3 million,6797 doses were counted. The number of vaccines distributed to long-term care facilities was 341,6875 doses, of which 511635 doses were confirmed.
