England’s professional football Premier League (EPL) Manchester United (Man U) showed off their hot offense, defeating Southampton and closely following the lead Manchester City (Man City).

On the 3rd, Manchester United won a 9-0 win against Southampton in their home game in the 2020-2021 EPL round 22 held at Old Trafford in Manchester, England. United remained in second place with 13 wins, 5 draws, 4 losses and 44 points.

Southampton defender Alessandro Jankewitz was sent off for a red card in the first two minutes, and the match slid early to Manchester United. Manchester United scored four goals in the first half, and in the 41st minute, Bednarek tackled Marsial in the penalty area and was sent off to complete the 9-goal victory.

It was the third EPL match with 9 goals or more. Manchester United-Ipswichtown (Man United 9-0 win) in 1995 and Leicester City-Southampton match in 2019 (Leicester City 9-0 win) are examples.

While Manchester United won nine goals twice, Southampton faced the humiliation of losing nine goals twice.

Manchester United scored six goals: Marsial (2 goals), Wan-Bissaka, Rashford, Cabani, McTomini, Fernandez and James.

Manchester United also won their first match against Southampton 3-2. Scored 12 goals in both matches. It is also the most goal hit against a specific team in one season. Blackburn Rovers scored 12 goals against Nottingham Forest in the 1995-1996 season, Tottenham Hotspur in the 2009-2010 season against Wigan Athletic, and Manchester City against Watfort in the 2019-2020 season.

Meanwhile, Arsenal lost 1-2 to Wolverhampton. In Arsenal, David Lewis and Bernd Leno were also sent off. It is the first time since Aston Villa and Everton in October 2007 that more than one team has been sent off by more than one person a day.
