Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on his Twitter on the 2nd (local time) that he had received a vaccine to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).

President Zelensky wrote on his Twitter that day, “I got the Corona 19 vaccine,” and “I was beaten on the front line with the soldiers as the supreme commander of the military.”

The vaccine he received was Covishield, developed by AstraZeneca and produced in India. President Zelensky stressed that “the vaccine will allow us to live without restrictions again.”

According to media such as Lianovosti, President Zelensky visited a military base in the eastern Lugansk region on that day and received vaccinations with his soldiers. This is an area where Ukrainian government forces are confronting pro-Russian separatist rebels.

In early November of last year, President Zelensky was infected with Corona 19 and healed in two weeks. The reason he was vaccinated, who had already been infected once, was due to low levels of antibodies, local media reported.

Ukraine started vaccination on the 24th of last month. On the 1st, Ukrainian Health Minister Maxim Stefanov was vaccinated before President Zelensky.
