The first Mars probe’Al-Amal’, launched by the United Arab Emirates (UAE), successfully entered Mars orbit. It is the fifth in the world after the United States and the Soviet Union, Europe and India.

On the 9th (local time), according to foreign media such as the Associated Press and local media, Amal launched by the UAE last July successfully entered Mars orbit by navigating 490 million km of space.

Amal, sailing at a speed of 120,000 km/h, attempted to enter orbit with six thrusters lowering the speed to 18,000 km/h. Amal successfully entered orbit after 7:30 pm on the 9th, and signaled a success to the control station, Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC).

Ground controllers stood up and cheered at Amal’s success in orbiting. An official from MBRSC explained, “Entering Mars orbit was the most important and dangerous part,” and “As the milestone is achieved, we are preparing to collect science-related information.

UAE Prime Minister, Sheikh Muhammad bin Rashid Almaktoum, Vice President and Leader of the UAE, also said, “This achievement has reached the farthest distance in space in the Arab world. Our goal is to give hope that the Arabs can compete with the rest of the world.” did.

Amal will make orbital corrections three times during the next week. After successful orbit correction, it orbits Mars and performs tasks such as measuring the atmosphere in the upper and lower layers and observing the surface of Mars.

Following Amal’s orbit on Mars, China’s first Mars probe, Tianyuan 1, will soon attempt to orbit. The US rover (exploration vehicle)’Perseverance’ will soon enter Mars’ atmosphere and attempt to land.
