U.S.’talk show legend’ Larry King dies of corona

Larry King (pictured), who is called the legend of the American talk show, died of a novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19) on the 23rd (local time). 87 years old.

According to the Associated Press and other foreign media, King Ora Media, a media network co-founded by King, announced that King died at the Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles (LA).

The company did not reveal the cause of the death, but it was reported that King was confirmed by Corona 19 on the 3rd and had been hospitalized for more than a week.

King gained fame by hosting’Larry King Live’, which aired on CNN from 1985 to 2010. Over 25 years, he interviewed about 50,000 people while filming 6,000 talk shows. The Dalai Lama and Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, Mikhail Gorbachev, Palestinian leaders Yasser Arafat, Bill Gates, Elizabeth Taylor, Lady Gaga and many other celebrities were included.

The AP reported that he was “a giant in the broadcasting industry for half a century,” and that his interviews with celebrities, political debates, and topical discussions received great attention. Wearing suspenders is also his trademark. His non-aggressive interview style relieved the performer’s tension and made it easy to relate to the audience. He has won two Peabody Awards, called the Pulitzer Prize in the Broadcasting category.

King has suffered from lung cancer, angina and heart disease for years. Following lung cancer surgery in 2017, she had surgery for angina in 2019. This frequent disease triggered King’s launch of the Larry King Heart Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports treatment even for people without medical insurance.

King has been married to 7 women 8 times and has 5 children. Last year, she lost her two children from illness.
