US Joe Biden’s administration re-joins the UN Human Rights Council. It’s been three years since the Donald Trump administration left.
According to Reuters, the deputy ambassador of the United States delegation Mark Cathayer said at a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council organization held on the 8th (local time), “The Secretary of State Tony Blingen announced that today the United States will re-join the UN Human Rights Council as an observer. I am happy to inform you,” he said.
“Although the Human Rights Council has its flaws, we know that this organization has the potential to be an important meeting for those who fight tyranny and injustice around the world. We are committed to meeting its potential.” I am trying,” he said.

The Human Rights Council was established in 2006 by reorganizing the Human Rights Committee under the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC). The aim is to promote human rights and freedoms in the international community and to deal with serious and systematic human rights violations.
Earlier, the U.S. withdrew from the UN Human Rights Council in June 2018, when former President Donald Trump was in office, for showing prejudice and resentment to U.S. ally Israel, and ignoring reforms demanded by the U.S.
But the Biden administration is overturning the policies that took place during the presidency of Trump. In addition to the United Nations Human Rights Commission, the Trump administration has declared withdrawal from international agreements with international organizations such as UNESCO (UNESCO, UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), World Health Organization (WHO), Paris Climate Agreement, and Iran’s nuclear agreement.
However, on the first day of his inauguration, President Joe Biden stopped the WHO withdrawal process and issued an executive order to return to the Paris Climate Agreement.
