U.S. EU vs. North Korea and China…’New Cold War’ is on fire

“Stop the suppression of Uighur human rights”

Simultaneous Chinese sanctions such as the US and EU

‘Biden Allied Forces’ first performance exercise

China fights back sanctions by EU Political Security Committee

In close contact with North Korea and Russia

The Uighur human rights issue is raising the level of pressure on China by the US mobilizing alliances such as the European Union (EU). China, too, did not give in, and responded to Russia and North Korea as if they were looking forward to it. It is the atmosphere of the’New Cold War’, in which the world is divided into two again after the Cold War era in the past.

According to the Reuters news agency on the 22nd (local time), on the same day, the EU was Xinjiang with four people related to Xinjiang, including Wang Jun-jeong, secretary of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps Communist Party Committee, Chen Ming-gou, Xinjiang Public Security Bureau chief, former Xinjiang party committee secretary, and Wang Ming-san, secretary of the Xinjiang Political and Legal Committee. The Production and Construction Corps Public Security Bureau was placed on the subject of sanctions. The United States also announced that it would add Wang Jun-jeong and Chen Ming-gou by expanding the previously announced sanctions list.

The US has launched an offensive that China is oppressing the Uighurs in Xinjiang, and that this is a’genocide’. In this regard, the UK and Canada also expressed their position to participate in public sanctions.

Sanctions were announced individually on that day, but it was clear that each country was working on a joint response through coordination. The US Treasury Department said, “The United States will continue to demonstrate its leadership in the global effort to combat serious human rights abuses in Xinjiang and around the world.”

It is analyzed that this sanction is the first alliance rally since the inauguration of the administration of Joe Biden. Earlier in the Donald Trump administration, the United States was in a one-on-one confrontation with China, but the Biden administration is using an alliance and a siege of China, which is a distinct difference. Reuters said, “It was the first coordinated action of the West against China in the days of President Joe Biden,” and said, “The United States is paying off early from public diplomatic pressures.” US Secretary of State Tony Blincoln, who is visiting Brussels, Belgium to attend the NATO Ministerial Meeting from this day to the 25th, is also focusing on public cooperation.

But China also immediately counterattacked. On the 22nd, the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposed sanctions against the Political Security Committee, known as the EU’s foreign policy-making body. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, “It has decided to sanction 10 European officials and 4 organizations that seriously violate China’s sovereignty and interests and spread fake information.”

The Uighur human rights controversy is acting as a spark for the US-China conflict. The Uighur crisis is a good source of pressure for China as the United States presses on China to defend the basic order of democracy such as human rights and freedom.

In particular, the US and China are fighting fierce fights this week with simultaneous sanctions and power display after a slander in Alaska on the 18th and 19th. The US held a video summit of four quad countries (US, Japan, Australia, India) on the 12th, and then held a meeting with the US-Japan and ROK-US diplomatic and defense ministers (2+2) from the 16th to show off its alliance with China. From the 23rd, Minister Blincoln will attend the NATO Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in Belgium.

China is also’matching’ by being called three. On the 22nd, China invited Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov to hold a meeting with Chinese-Russian foreign ministers. In this regard, Chinese media, such as the state-run Global Times News, argued that “the partnership between China and Russia is a balance that checks the hegemony of the US, and there is no upper limit to cooperation between China and Russia.”

It is also noteworthy that Chinese President Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un emphasized solidarity when they announced that they had exchanged oral letters. North Korea consistently responded silently to US attempts to talk, and clarified its devotion to China. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi will visit six countries, including Turkey and Iran, starting on the 24th to expand his influence.
