AFP news agency reported that two people were injured as a result of police shooting at protesters protesting the military coup on the 20th in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second city.

During a protest held at a shipyard in Mandalay that day, the police fired, and the assembly turned violent, and it is unclear whether the police used live or rubber bullets, AFP said.

While protests against the military coup that broke out on the 1st in Myanmar continue, the level of suppression by the military and police in Myanmar is gradually getting stronger.

Last week, a woman was shot in the head by police shooting while the police disbanded the protesters in the capital Naepido, and the woman died on the 19th.

However, protests by citizens continue. On this day, ethnic minorities, writers, and workers came to the streets and held protests all over Myanmar, demanding the resignation of the military and the release of national advisor Aung San Suu Kyi.

A memorial service for the deceased was also held in Yangon, the largest city in Myanmar, and in the capital Naepido. “I will continue the protests for the deceased,” said Kin Mau, a student at the memorial service.

According to the Myanmar Political Offender Support Association, 546 people were arrested as of the previous day, of which only 46 were released.

Meanwhile, the next trial of a shame advisor, who is being tried after being detained by the military, for possession of a walkie-talkie and for violating the National Disaster Law, will be held on March 1.
